Blue-and-yellow-blue-and-yellow-blue-and-yellow
I’m pretty sure a lot of you have caught on to my blue and yellow color scheme obsession, but if not, I’ll spell it out for you in the third person: Abigail thinks the color blue goes very nicely with the color yellow. I find that the combo works best when the blue is anywhere from cerulean to navy, and the yellow ranges from mustard to macaroni and cheese. Those colors make sense to me but if you can’t figure them out, open up a box of crayons. The 124 pack works best.

I’m not going to pretend like I’m qualified to critique designer fashion, ‘cause I’m not, but I will venture to say that this blue and yellow combo doesn’t do it for me. The colors are too light and faded and kind of wash the model out.
The Z Zegna Spring 2012 Menswear Collection is more along the lines of what I’m talking about. It’s called My Abstract Sunday, and Tim Blank of style.com described the color scheme as “sky blue and sunshine yellow.” I noticed also that the bright blues and yellows were further subdued by shades of brown and maroon, two colors that accent yellow and blue every well.

Also! I went to a nerd convention the other day at BU where we saw seminars on powerful women of the ancient world. Both of the seminars I watched were on Cleopatra and she was pretty kickass. Anyway, when I was there, I sketchily took a picture of this girl’s jacket, which I really like. A lot.

Isn’t it preeetty?
Anyway, here’s me:

Thrifted dress, sweater from Elizabeth, vintage beads, F21 leggings and oxfords, navy blue bobby socks, vintage bangles
I’ve realized I’m now at that stage where I always look awkward, no matter how I pose for a picture, and my face always looks evil. Also, I’m a little Cinemascope crazed …

Bunnies and buttons and baby blue things

Happy Easter, to all those who celebrate it. I, not being one of these celebratory individuals, went to the movies with one of my fellow non-Christian friends and saw Soul Surfer. Trying to emulate the style of an Easter bunny, I wore robin’s egg blue leggings (they’re really purple and cyan striped, but they blend together to form a nice robin’s egg blue color), a purple button-up romper from Macy’s, a long-sleeved t-shirt from Delia’s, and a Fletcher by Lyell button-up vest from that amazingly amazing Urban Outfitters in San Francisco I talked about here. P.S. For some reason the lighting outside is really terrible today. This is perhaps due to the fact that I took this photo at 7:00 in contrast to my usual 3:00 or so, but whatever!

My inspiration (below):

Yes, that was a frightening, over-sized Easter bunny wearing a vest. I even made it giant just to scare you guys more. And guess where it’s from? The aptly named clownshop.com!
Now, please enjoy these images of me grappling with a giant stuffed Easter bunny. I even added a decorative flower border for your viewing pleasure.

Okay folks, I have no time to edit out the red eye, so you’re just going to have to deal with it. Sorry, I’m not usually so nasty in my posts but ARGHH! The power just went out for like forty-five minutes and I have too much homework and there’s no FREAKING way I’m every going to get my NaNoWriMo novel done! And I’m jealous of the people who were in Texas today and saw the Descendents! So just look at the pics and appreciate them because I only had two minutes to take them because EIGHTH GRADE IS SO HECTIC.
AND they make me get up at 6:00 in the morning and my circadian rhythms don’t like it and if it wasn’t for waking up late like twice a year my attendance would be practically impeccable. Okay obviously I need to stop talking in bold and with a bunch of exclamation points. I’m not usually this whiny. And so ends my rant.

The beach is always the best when the ocean fades into the sky so you can barely distinguish the horizon.
