I’m pretty sure a lot of you have caught on to my blue and yellow color scheme obsession, but if not, I’ll spell it out for you in the third person: Abigail thinks the color blue goes very nicely with the color yellow. I find that the combo works best when the blue is anywhere from cerulean to navy, and the yellow ranges from mustard to macaroni and cheese. Those colors make sense to me but if you can’t figure them out, open up a box of crayons. The 124 pack works best.

I’m not going to pretend like I’m qualified to critique designer fashion, ‘cause I’m not, but I will venture to say that this blue and yellow combo doesn’t do it for me. The colors are too light and faded and kind of wash the model out.
The Z Zegna Spring 2012 Menswear Collection is more along the lines of what I’m talking about. It’s called My Abstract Sunday, and Tim Blank of style.com described the color scheme as “sky blue and sunshine yellow.” I noticed also that the bright blues and yellows were further subdued by shades of brown and maroon, two colors that accent yellow and blue every well.

Also! I went to a nerd convention the other day at BU where we saw seminars on powerful women of the ancient world. Both of the seminars I watched were on Cleopatra and she was pretty kickass. Anyway, when I was there, I sketchily took a picture of this girl’s jacket, which I really like. A lot.

Isn’t it preeetty?
Anyway, here’s me:

Thrifted dress, sweater from Elizabeth, vintage beads, F21 leggings and oxfords, navy blue bobby socks, vintage bangles
I’ve realized I’m now at that stage where I always look awkward, no matter how I pose for a picture, and my face always looks evil. Also, I’m a little Cinemascope crazed …
